With a primary focus on managing high value relationships for Marie Curie, in your day to day you will identify, cultivate and manage a portfolio of Major Donors collaborating with Senior Volunteers, peers, fellow team members and teams across the charity. You will be empowered to build your own relationships, grow interactions with our supporters and provide exceptional and creative stewardship and have a real opportunity to contribute to this area of fundraising growth for Marie Curie.
You will be responsible for:
- Personally developing and managing a portfolio of both existing and new Major Donor supporters.
- Delivering excellent cultivation and stewardship with a focus on growing long-term relationships that puts both the vision of Marie Curie and that of the supporter at its heart. Including working closely with both the Philanthropy and Special Events teams to support the delivery of high-quality donor events.
- Preparing well written, compelling project proposals on a wide range of funding opportunities.
- Preparing briefings and pitches for donor meetings and make face to face 'asks' including managing the involvement of senior leadership and senior volunteers.
- Effectively using the CRM system to track and estimate future income, to measure actual income and ensuring visibility of the role's contribution to the Philanthropy Team's income target.
Key Criteria:
- Strong track record of successfully securing significant funding with a focus on developing and maintaining effective donor relationships.
- Experience of initiating and developing excellent working relationships with key contacts across the charity and facilitating relationships with trustees and senior volunteers.
- Ability to produce consistently outstanding, high quality, imaginative and compelling proposals.
- Proven ability to analyse and interpret complex project plans, budgets and data and present relevant information in a convincing way.
- Superb written and oral communication skills - confidence in dealing with people at all levels, demonstrating professionalism and diplomacy.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise activities and focus on details.

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 + £3,500 London Weighting Allowance where applicable
Contract:   Permanent
Based:  Hybrid. This is a predominantly home-based role and can be based in or around London with the requirement to work 2-3 days a week from our London office.
