Job Description THE ROLE We have an excitingopportunity for a Broker to join our team working in the Physical Fuel OilMarket. Responsible for promoting FIS and arranging trades on behalf ofclients, you will be dynamic and personable with a passion for shipping and commoditiesmarkets. You will be a natural networker, having a proactive approach togenerating leads and securing new business. Ideal candidates will haveexperience in the commodities space. Working in a fast-growing company you will be responsible for building strongrelationships with customers, closing deals, onboarding new customers from ourvast database of leads, expanding our supply network and promoting other desksofferings. As our new PhysicalFuel Oil Broker you will be exposed to both long term strategic businesschallenges and daily customer interaction. As a key employee you will make ameaningful contribution to the bottom line and the progression of the desk as awhole. This role is a uniqueopportunity to capitalise on our traction. As we deal with customers fromacross the globe, working hours can be unpredictable and communication andteamwork is key. Key responsibilities: Promote FIS as a company; providing marketintelligence and analysis to clients Arrange trades via phone & messengerservices on and behalf of clients for execution at relevant exchange; Ensure all trades are executed on a non-advice /execution only basis Reconcile and enter trades in Trade Managerand/or relevant exchange as necessary Maintain and enhance existing clientrelationships, making regular contact and tracking daily trading activities Proactively solicit feedback from industryparticipants via trade calls, surveys, industry events, trade shows andconferences Produce a daily/weekly update of market prices,market direction for international desks On-board new clients following correctCompliance and Operations procedures Regularly assess client needs and financialconditions to identify internal cross-selling opportunities Understand the desk s business strategy;identify and seize new business opportunities relating to trends, futuremarkets, products and clients Perform any other reasonable duties the companymay require Be comfortable on the phone and confident atmaking cold/warm calls Assist in the daily operations of trading,including conducting market research, negotiating deals, executingtransactions, and managing client relationships. An understanding of post-fixture and problemsolving within the physical shipping market International travel for meetings/conferenceswith clients/prospective clients Handle administrative duties like confirmations,data entry and updating CRM Risk relatedresponsibilities Understand regulation within the evolvingregulatory landscape Support a risk and compliance aware culture andcomply with FIS company policies Exercise judgement and act with integrity, duecare, skill and diligence and open and co-operative with the FCA, otherregulators and exchanges Ensure full awareness of and adhere to internalpolicies that relate to the role or any relevant other activities Observe standards of market conduct and ensureunderstanding and adherence to all regulatory, exchange or clearing houserequirements applicable to role Training Seek regular feedback from Desk Head to ensurerole requirements are met Complete any mandatory training required by thecompany and required deadlines Maintain own Continued Professional Development(CPD) Requirements Possess sound knowledge of technical aspects ofbroking essential Good knowledge of Physical Fuel Oil products andmarkets; Strong client focus; personable and engagingbuilding relationships and networks wherever possible essential Communicating effectively with clients andcolleagues - essential Tenacious and thrives in a pressurisedenvironment essential Excellent negotiation skills essential Team oriented; works well with others anddiverse groups / personalities essential Excellent attention to detail; strong analyticaland numeracy skills essential Demonstrate some experience as a Physical FuelOil broker Ability to bring over established accounts butalso grow new business, closing deals and generating revenue Likeable, energetic character that easily buildsrelationships with people Track record of onboarding new customers andclosing deals Strong at problem solving and mediation Experience with common legal bunker terms An understanding of marine fuel price, creditand counterparty risk. Comfortable with public speaking and presenting.
