As a Physics Teacher, your responsibilities typically include more than just marking and planning, although those are important aspects of the role. Here are some key responsibilities you would typically have:
• Curriculum Development: Develop and deliver a comprehensive and engaging physics curriculum that covers essential topics and concepts in the field.
• Effective Classroom Instruction: Provide clear and effective instruction, utilizing innovative teaching methods, technology, and real-world examples to make complex physics concepts accessible and relatable to students.
• Student Assessment: Assess student progress through a variety of evaluation methods, including quizzes, tests, practical experiments, and projects, and provide constructive feedback to promote academic growth.
• Mentorship and Guidance: Foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and inquiry skills in students, guiding them towards their academic and personal development, and preparing them for future careers in science and engineering.
• Classroom Management:Establish and maintain a positive and organized classroom environment that encourages active participation, teamwork, and a strong passion for physics among students.
• Professional Development: Stay updated with the latest developments in the field of physics and education, bringing current industry insights into the classroom and participating in continuous professional development to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
The successful candidate for Physics Teacher will have:
• Qualified Teacher Status (ideally PGCE, GTP, BEd, Cert Ed, BA with QTS) in Physics or a related field.
• Prior experience teaching Physics to secondary school students.
• Strong knowledge of the national curriculum and assessment methods in physics.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• DBS on Updated Service.
