About the Company:As we look to increase our efficiency whilst outperforming against project and customer expectations, we must plan in the most innovative, robust, and accurate fashion.With this in mind, we are looking for a driven individual with a can-do attitude who will be a key member of a wholly collaborative team and use their experience, enthusiasm, and skills to help the team drive efficiency and outperformance.This is an opportunity for an assistant planner, or someone looking to start a career in planning with construction delivery experience to join the team and play a key role in delivering high-profile projects within the civil engineering sector.About the Role:A short paragraph summarizing the key role responsibilities.Responsibilities:Involved in the full life cycle of projects, from inception to completion.Provide planning support to the Senior Planner on projects in the region.Assist with proactively ensuring that planning standards are maintained across all projects and planning & control procedures are adhered to.Support site-based project teams with creating and managing short-term lookahead programmes, ensuring planning standards are maintained and risks and opportunities highlighted.Support in the preparation of progress reports, and variance analysis.Identifying programme delays and highlighting recoverable delaysParticipate in project meetings and contribute to discussions on scheduling, sequencing, and resource allocation.Report directly to the Senior Planner and will initially provide construction planning support for up to 8 live construction projects valued up to £5m.Qualifications:Education detailsRequired Skills:All set deadlines were adhered to.Recovery of up to 90% of time lost in live projects.Agreement of up to 80% of programmes.Input into programme development.Preferred Skills:Key relationships:Barhale team and the wider communityClients and supply chainPerson Specification:The successful candidate is likely to meet all the following criteria:Good understanding of construction sequencing and how a project comes together gained in a site-level role for a contractor in the UK construction industry.Computer literacy and the willingness to learn how to use multiple planning software packages are essential.Experience using industry-standard software such as Primavera P6, AstaPower or Microsoft Project would be beneficial.Knowledge and experience of project delivery in the water industry would be beneficial.Knowledge and experience of NEC forms of contract would be beneficial.A construction-related qualification is preferable but not essential.Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment.Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and deadlines.Pay range and compensation package:Pay range or salary or compensationEqual Opportunity Statement:Include a statement on commitment to diversity and inclusivity.Benefits:As well as offering a competitive salary, remuneration for this role includes flexible benefits, and a range of guaranteed benefits including but not limited to:5% Company pension contributionLife Assurance at 2 x notional salarySingle person’s private medical coverPermanent Health CoverAbout Barhale:Barhale is one of the largest privately-owned civil engineering and infrastructure specialists with 40 years of experience working UK-wide across the water, transport, built environment and energy sectors.
