Are you an experienced Planning Manager with a passion for delivering large-scale energy infrastructure projects? BAM Nuttall is looking for a Planning Manager to join the Eastern Green Link 2 project team, which is responsible for a vital new electricity link, strengthening the grid and supporting the UK's renewable energy goals. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in a high-profile project that runs until 2029.

This role can be based at our office in Kilsyth (Glasgow) or our sites in Peterhead (Aberdeenshire) and Wren Hall (Selby)

Your mission
As a Planning Manager, you will be responsible for the following:
Client facing role to support the Project Management team in presenting the project programme and providing relevant narrative
Lead and manage a team of 4-6 Planning Engineers, ensuring efficient delivery of detailed and robust programmes across all phases of the project.
Collaborate closely with the Project Director, Commercial Manager, Construction Manager, Project Controls Manager, Design Managers, JV partner planning team, and discipline project managers.
Engage with key stakeholders, including the clients Project Manager and Planning Manager, as well as specialist supply chain partners.
Work with the Senior Project Controls Engineer, Commercial and Planning teams to finalise monthly reporting, including managing payment milestones and accurately managing the value of work done within the P6 programme.
Manage the production of change programmes and narratives aligned with the FIDIC contract procedure in a timely manner, ensuring smooth communication and contract compliance.
Manage the development and updates of project schedules, ensuring that change control, progress tracking, and resource allocation are accurately handled throughout the project lifecycle.
Contribute to overall project controls with partial responsibility in supporting the Project Controls Manager.
Establish and maintain internal and external reporting on programme progress, including risks and opportunities, ensuring transparency and effective communication with all stakeholders.
Who are we looking for?
Essential:
Proven experience as a Senior Project Planning Engineer or Planning Manager on large-scale energy infrastructure or similar projects.
Strong knowledge and experience with FIDIC EPC contracts, with a solid understanding of NEC contract delivery.
Expert in using Primavera P6
Ability to lead and coach a team, ensuring consistent delivery of programmes and mentoring junior planners.
Demonstrated ability to manage complex planning tasks, assess programme robustness, and evaluate supply chain schedules.
Commercial and contractual awareness, particularly regarding cost loading, resource allocation, and risk management.
Experience working on long-term projects, with an understanding of delivering during both early phases and into completion.
Experience working on large programmes with resource loading.
Desirable:
Experience working on major energy infrastructure projects or similar facilities.
Strong background in project planning and controls within large, multi-disciplinary teams.
Experience with QSRA (Primavera Risk / Deltek Acumen Risk)
Experience in 4D planning software (Synchro).
