Plant Electrical Engineer



Hours of work: 9am-5pm Wednesday - Sunday. 8 hours per day plus emergency call outs.



This is a permanent position based in the Doncaster area.



You will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of the state of the art manufacturing facilities, working closely with the manager team and the plant operatives to minimise plant downtime and maximise efficiency and product output. This is not shift work but occasionally people are required to attend out of hours breakdowns. The plant is a bagging factory.



The ideal candidate will come from an electrical engineering background and should be able to work on their own initiative, be a time served engineer, but multi-skilled (17th or 18th Edition) and have manufacturing machinery experience. If you have worked on PLC systems, as part of a PPM process it would be advantageous. Also, able and willing to work on general machinery such as compressors, conveyor machines, hydraulics, pumps, general mechanical work, and other manufacturing processes. There is training and career development on offer, so the successful candidate will be in line to broaden their skills considerably.





Key Responsibilities:



� To carry out essential planned maintenance and complete necessary repairs to keep the factory in good working order. Provide electrical maintenance cover through effective and efficient response to plant breakdowns throughout the factory.



� Involvement in on-going process improvement throughout the factory developing new ideas and better solutions.



� Provide good communication skills to colleagues & production personnel to develop an understanding of the machinery operation so faults can be diagnosed & rectified efficiently.



� As a member of the engineering team promote the development and implementation of the Factory IMS & CMMS system.



� As a member of the engineering department applying rigorous application of TPM Tools & Techniques to generate Continuous Improvement throughout all areas of the Factory.



� As a member of the engineering team applying the 5S principles to deliver world-class standards of housekeeping.



� Support process improvement throughout the factory.



� Report to the Plant Manager to ensure all maintenance tasks are undertaken.





Qualifications & Experience:



� Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship & Qualification.



� Demonstrable Knowledge & Expertise in Fault-finding and Diagnostic Skills on Industrial Plant & Equipment.



� An understanding of PLC equipment and program editing. Able to fault find on PLC and edit programs.



� Design, draw and read electrical diagrams.



� Replace and program Frequency Inverters, Motor Controls, Safety Circuits.



� High degree of Health & Safety awareness





Essentials:



� To be trained to City & Guilds and/or ONC level, ideally with a working knowledge of BS7671 18th/17th Wiring Regulations.



� C&G 2392 Testing & Inspection



� C&G 2360 Part 2



� Level 3 Electrotechnical Qualification (in either Installation or Maintenance) or Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Installing Electrotechnical Systems and Equipment (BS&E) or similar equivalent qualification.



� ECS Gold Card



� To be conversant with the Electricity at Work Act



� Familiarity with industrial mobile and fixed plant



� Full UK driving licence.



� Computer Literate
