My Hartlepool based client is looking to bolster their current fabrication team with the addition of a number of Platers.�

Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret detailed engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Prepare and align steel components using cutting torches, grinders, and other hand tools.
- Shape and fabricate large steel plates and sections for assembly.
- Perform accurate measuring and marking of materials to ensure precision.
- Assemble and tack-weld parts before final welding.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and standards.
- Inspect finished products for quality and adherence to specifications.
- Collaborate with engineers, welders, and other team members to achieve project goals.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Plater, specifically with heavy gauge structural steel.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong understanding of metalworking techniques, including cutting, shaping, and welding.
- Ability to use various hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team.
- Physical stamina and the ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
- Relevant certification or vocational training in metal fabrication or a related field is a plus.
