My Hartlepool based client is looking to bolster their current fabrication team with the addition of a number of Platers.�

Key Responsibilities:




  • Read and interpret detailed engineering drawings and blueprints.

  • Prepare and align steel components using cutting torches, grinders, and other hand tools.

  • Shape and fabricate large steel plates and sections for assembly.

  • Perform accurate measuring and marking of materials to ensure precision.

  • Assemble and tack-weld parts before final welding.

  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and standards.

  • Inspect finished products for quality and adherence to specifications.

  • Collaborate with engineers, welders, and other team members to achieve project goals.



Qualifications:




  • Proven experience as a Plater, specifically with heavy gauge structural steel.

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.

  • Strong understanding of metalworking techniques, including cutting, shaping, and welding.

  • Ability to use various hand and power tools safely and effectively.

  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team.

  • Physical stamina and the ability to work in a physically demanding environment.

  • Relevant certification or vocational training in metal fabrication or a related field is a plus.
