As a Managing Platform Engineer, you will support our clients in delivering scalable enterprise solutions on IAAS/PAAS platforms, leveraging your technical expertise and leadership skills.The Role As a Managing Platform Engineer, you will be aligned with one of our many clients, assisting them through their digital transformation journey. You will be a key player in ensuring technical integrity on new or active projects, resolving technical issues, and mentoring the existing team. Your role includes:Engaging in business strategy to grow the team and explore new opportunities.Collaborating with market units and multi-cloud vendor partnerships.Transforming clients' businesses by delivering best practice solutions and methodologies.Identifying optimal technologies and services based on client needs.Evangelizing standards, patterns, and best practices for infrastructure and systems.Participating in workshops, presenting solutions, and contributing to proposals.Why This Role? As part of our platform engineering leadership group, you will:Work actively with market units and vendor partnerships to secure new business.Deliver solutions that follow best practices.Mentor and coach teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.About You We are looking for someone who:Experience of building infrastructure in AWS using Terraform/IaC Solid understanding of containers (K8s would be ideal, with a CKA being strongly beneficial)Extremely sound knowledge of GNU/Linux Strong understanding of CI/CD environments and how they facilitate the automation process with other orchestration tools Knowledge and experience of setting up and using config management tooling – Puppet / Ansible preferred Reasonable fluency in at least one of: Python, Ruby, Go, BashExperience debugging complex, multiserver services in a high availability production environmentAbility to converse with both internal and external stakeholders A strong appetite for learning new technologies Good communication skills both in written and verbal format with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly and conciselyAWS certification (SysOps/Developer/Architect) – preferred but not essential – but keen to work towards it quickly after joining What We OfferCompetitive salaryAbove-market bonus & pensionPrivate medical & dentalFlexible/remote workingTravel expenses & daily allowance for client site visitsFree certification scheme (AWS, Azure, CKA, Hashicorp, Red Hat)Free MacBook, mobile & company credit card upon startingLife assurance (2x)25 days holiday (with the option to trade 10 additional days)Flat structure - all colleagues' views are valid and encouraged.
