PLC Control Systems Engineer

About the position
We are currently working with a company who provide automation services to a number of industries including food, automotive, packaging, woodworking, glass processing, chemical factories, water treatment, rubber processing and paper handling.
Job Responsibilities:

• Working on the initial concept through to design and on-site commissioning, working on process improvements and implement the changes, whether they involve electrical design, mechanical design or software design.

Experience Required:

• Experience at fault finding and commissioning, primarily on electrical systems, knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems would be a bonus.


• Proficient in writing software for PLCs, HMIs and integrated drive systems.


• Good working knowledge of at least one of the following: Siemens Step 7 and TIA Portal, Rockwell Studio 5000 and FTView, Mitsubishi GX & GT Works.


• Experience with older control systems and the ability to upgrade and replace with newer systems.


• Ability to design electrical control systems using AutoCAD or EPlan or SEE Electrical.


• This role will need someone who is able to travel away from home including working abroad.


• The ideal candidate would be local to the West Yorkshire and Manchester areas.
