Your New CompanyThe Project and Change team is at the forefront of transformational change, driving significant savings through 28 diverse projects and programmes. The team is dedicated to service redesign, new technology, and improved outcomes for the city and its residents. They are now tasked with assuring the delivery of a Capital Programme, with a budget of approximately �200 million for 2025/26.


Your New RoleAs the PMO Lead, you will establish PMO methodologies for the Capital Programme, including governance, reporting, and assurance mechanisms. You will audit existing capital programmes, identify issues, risks, and gaps, and recommend solutions. You will develop plans to align ongoing capital projects with PMO methodology and governance, prioritise activities for successful delivery, and recommend resource plans to support ongoing assurance. You will be accountable for the overall assurance of Capital Programme delivery and ensure a high-quality handover of all deliverables and activities to the PMO team at the end of the contract term.


What You'll Need to Succeed

  • Extensive experience in PMO roles, particularly in establishing PMO frameworks and methodologies.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to design, initiate, plan, and manage programmes and initiatives within agreed timescales and parameters.
  • Excellent collaboration skills to work effectively with colleagues across the organisation and the PMO Manager.
  • Proven ability to audit and review existing projects, establish effective governance, and provide accurate status reporting.
  • Ability to proactively identify and manage dependencies, resolve project escalations, and manage risks and issues.
