Salary: £75 - £110 per day

Are you passionate about supporting young adults in their educational journey? GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Post 16 Teaching Assistant to join a fantastic school in Hexham. This is a brilliant opportunity to make a positive impact on students' lives, helping them achieve their full potential.

As a Post 16 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students aged 16 and above, providing them with the support they need to succeed. Whether it's assisting with coursework, helping students with special educational needs, or offering one-to-one guidance, this role is key in fostering a positive learning environment.

Responsibilities as a Post 16 Teaching Assistant:


  • Assist in the classroom with academic and social development.
  • Provide one-to-one support for students where needed.
  • Help with preparation of learning materials and resources.
  • Assist in managing classroom behaviour.
  • Work closely with teachers to deliver tailored support plans.

To be a successful Post 16 Teaching Assistant, you need:


  • Experience working with students aged 16+ is preferred.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • A willingness to learn and adapt to different students' needs.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.


  • Have an updated CV (covering last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
