This is likely to be a Chemical or Mechanical Engineer who has recently finished their PhD and wants to develop their career within a small (but growing!) R&D team in industry, scaling up technology and bringing their engineering strengths to the team.The Role:Joining a multi-disciplinary development team, provide Development expertise and support to Polymer and Electrochemistry Research ScientistsLead projects focused on improving the technologyLead validation of new technology, including scale-up and implementation into new prototypesDevelop creative solutions to improve a prototype’s KPIsGenerate new prototype concepts and carry out experiments to support their developmentBe an active interface between the Research and Prototype Development teamsMust Haves:PhD in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering Demonstrable hands-on engineering skillset, with an understanding of chemical systems and manufacturing processesProcess Development and optimisation experience, within pilot-line manufacturingExperience scaling up technology and increasing TRLProject Management experienceStart-up mentalityExperience with batteries, supercapacitors or similar is preferredHappy to work on-siteThe Package:Depending on your level of experience, £40k -£60kShare optionsBeautiful, spacious, parkland setting with free parking, shuttle bus from the local rail station and dedicated buses from central CambridgeOn-site gym (indoor and outdoor facilities), award winning restaurant and a café barPerkboxExtensive career opportunitiesSupportive, friendly team25 days annual leave plus bank holidays5% employer pension contributionLife assurance policy - 4 x salarySpecsavers eye care vouchersSports and social events
