Job Overview:
We are currently seeking a Workshop-Based Powered Access Engineer to join our team in Northampton. The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing and light maintenance to a variety of powered access equipment, including scissor lifts, boom lifts, and other aerial platforms. Working in a well-equipped workshop, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of machinery and be part of a growing company that offers career progression and overtime opportunities. This role offers a competitive salary of up to �40,000 with overtime available to boost your earnings.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintenance & Servicing:
Carry out routine servicing and maintenance on a variety of powered access equipment including scissor lifts, boom lifts, and vertical mast lifts. Ensure all machines are in optimal working condition.

Repairs & Fault Diagnosis:
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults on powered access equipment, and carry out repairs efficiently. Ensure repairs are conducted in line with health and safety regulations.

Inspection & Testing:
Perform detailed safety inspections and load tests on powered access equipment. Ensure compliance with legal and safety standards, such as LOLER and PUWER.
Workshop Efficiency:
Work efficiently to ensure that repair and maintenance tasks are completed in a timely manner. Manage the parts and tools required for servicing equipment, keeping the workshop organized.

Customer Service:
Provide expert advice and guidance to customers when required, helping them to understand the condition of their equipment and any necessary repairs or maintenance.

Documentation & Reporting:
Complete service reports, repair records, and maintenance logs accurately. Ensure all work is properly documented, providing clear and concise information on completed tasks.

Collaboration & Teamwork:
Work closely with other engineers and workshop staff to maintain high standards of service and improve operational processes.
Qualifications & Experience:
Previous experience working as a Powered Access Engineer or in a similar mechanical engineering role.
Knowledge and experience with powered access equipment (e.g., scissor lifts, boom lifts, aerial work platforms).
Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair complex faults in powered access machinery.
Previous experience working in a workshop environment is an advantage.
Strong commitment to safety, with a clear understanding of relevant safety regulations and standards.
Good communication skills and the ability to interact with customers professionally.
Full UK driving license (preferred, but not essential for workshop-based role).
Relevant certifications, such as CAP, IPAF, LOLER, or equivalent, are desirable but not mandatory.
