Practice Accountant

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Practice Accountant with 4 years’ experience to join a well-established accountancy firm. This full-time, permanent role offers excellent benefits and a salary range of £30,000 - £40,000.

As a Practice Accountant, you will be managing a portfolio of clients, ranging from small business owners to medium-sized enterprises.

You will be responsible for:

• Preparing and reviewing management and year-end accounts for companies, partnerships, and sole traders.
• Ensuring compliance with anti-money laundering regulations and reviewing client systems accordingly.
• Handling personal and business tax matters.
• Preparing VAT calculations and VAT returns across different schemes (flat rate, cash, and accrual basis).
• Liaising with clients via meetings, email, and telephone to discuss accounts and financial matters.
• Supporting staff with queries related to accounts preparation and practice operations.

What we are looking for:

• Previously worked as a Practice Accountant, Senior Accountant, Accounts Senior, Accountant, Accounts Supervisor or in a similar role.
• At least 4 years of experience in accountancy and tax within a practice environment.
• AAT or equivalent qualification.
• Excellent accounts preparation skills.
• Understanding of Corporation & Income tax and current UK financial reporting requirements
• Valid driving licence and own vehicle.
