We’re working with a prestigious client who specialise in bespoke packaging artwork, printing, and mock-ups, primarily within the advertising, design, and packaging industries.
The company are known for their reputation of creating exceptionally high-quality end products using bespoke litho proofing techniques. Within their impressive and modern studio, you’ll find specialist areas that all play their part in the finished article – offset litho printers, silkscreen printers, hot and cold foiling, embossing, debossing, hand finishing, die cutting, varnishing and specialist ink usage, and much more, to add a truly unique look and feel to clients end products.
Working as part of the production team, this person will ensure the printing and finishing departments have all the tools, plates and information needed to efficiently operate on the day to day. The role is really busy and fast paced, so you’ll need to be able to work under pressure whilst not sacrificing your excellent attention to detail. This role will suit someone who is an experienced Mac operator, with great skills on Adobe Illustrator and InDesign who is looking to work in a hands on role and learn all there is to know about working in a niche area of the print industry.
Please be aware, this role is not a pure design role and you'll be working on client supplied designs/artwork.
As the business operate between the hours of 7am and 7pm you may be required to come in early or stay later on occasion to meet the needs and demands of the business.
The Role
- Checking and amending client supplied artwork using Adobe Illustrator / InDesign and working closely with clients directly to make any changes which may be required to ensure an efficient print process
- Ensuring artwork is error free and print ready
- Working closely with the finishing team and external suppliers to order embossing, debossing, filing and cutting dies along with more complex multi-level tooling.
- Preparing CTP plates and maintaining the CTP machine and processor on a regular basis (full training provided)
- Operating digital printers and cutting machinery (full training provided)
The Person
- Experience in a professional pre-press role as a Mac operator, production artworker, plate maker, or similar
- Excellent knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator/InDesign)
- Well-presented and professional demeanor with great interpersonal skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Great attention to detail whilst being able to multi-task and prioritise jobs
- Willingness to get stuck in in other areas of the business when required, the team is close knit and everyone helps each other out when needed
- Familiarity with print production processes (litho, silk screen and digital print) is a huge advantage
