A supportive and friendly mainstream primary school located in Waltham Forest, London are seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant to join them in September 2024 on a full time basis to work alongside children with special educational needs in EYFS (Reception) and KS1 (Year 1 & Year 2).

This primary school is based within walking distance of two local stations in Waltham Forest, London and is also very accessible via bus and car. You are very close to Epping Forest, Essex so the schools are based on beautiful grounds for all to benefit from!
For this SEN Teaching Assistant positions, the school are seeking 2 TAs who either have experience working with children with SEN as well as recent graduates in Education or Psychology who want to work with special educational needs.
The 2 SEN Teaching Assistant positions will be in either EYFS (Reception) or KS1 (Year 1 & Year 2) depending on your experience and preference.
The students in this mainstream primary school have a variety of special educational needs including ASD, ADHD, challenging behaviour or learning difficulties, so if you have experience of working 1-2-1 with SEN or have a passion and desire to supporting children with additional needs then these could be the roles for you.
You will be supporting your dedicated child in the classroom and helping the class teacher within the class with general TA duties. Your main role will be to build a rapport with your allocated child and help them feel confident in and out of the classroom and help to receive the best possible education. You will be working with your allocated child both 1-2-1 or within small groups.
This primary school are extremely supportive and will offer training from day one. You will be well supported by the SENCO, class teachers, Senior Leaders and other TAs within the school. Everyone works together to get the best results.
Being creative and fun is essential for this role. You need to ensure the children feel happy!
