Primary SEND Teacher

Location: Tyne and Wear

Salary: £120 - £180 per day

GSL Education is seeking a skilled Primary SEND Teacher for a role in a primary school in Tyne and Wear.

Job Summary:A Primary Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) teacher plays a crucial role in supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities within the primary school setting.

Responsibilities:


  • Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality, differentiated lessons that meet the needs of students with SEND.
  • Develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique needs.
  • Collaborate with teaching assistants, support staff, and external professionals to provide comprehensive support.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and independence.
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing regular feedback to parents and caregivers.
  • Contribute to the wider school community through participation in staff meetings, training sessions, and extracurricular activities.

Qualifications:


  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience working with children with SEND in a primary school setting.
  • A thorough understanding of SEND legislation and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, compassionate, and adaptable approach to teaching.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and a willingness to learn new strategies and techniques.
