Are you a Primary Teaching Assistant or Behaviour Support Assistant looking for a new challenge in the Bolton area?

I am currently recruiting for a confident Primary Teaching Assistant to start in September on a full time & long term basis at a small Primary Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in the Bolton area for children with Social, Emotional needs or Mental Health needs (SEMH).

The role is offered on a temporary to permanent basis and is paying up to £100 per day for the first 12 weeks and equal pay to permanent staff in similar roles from the 13 week onwards.

The Role

• Monday to Friday 8:30am-3:30pm.
• Temporary to Permanent.
• PRU Primary Teaching Assistants will need to combine learning support with behaviour management. They will aid the class teacher in managing classroom behaviour so that teaching and learning progress can be made.
• The role is varied as no two days are the same. They have shorter lessons and small groups. They use a varied curriculum utilising many vocational subjects to engage students in areas that they are most interested in.
• Students will often need additional support to access the curriculum, and this requires a strong amount of patience and understanding.

The TA will:

• Support young people with literacy and numeracy and general subject knowledge.
• Manage social, emotional and behavioural difficulties.
• Promote a safe, inclusive, collaborative and positive working environment.
• Support young people with mental health needs and anxiety.
• Work collaboratively with other members of the team including other teaching assistants and teachers, senior leaders, heads of departments, parents and carers, social workers and other members of the child's multidisciplinary team.

• Have a DBS certificate on the Update Service or be happy to apply for a new one.
• Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable)
• Minimum of 2 professional references.
• Provide a CV with full history from school to present.
• Have the legal right to work in the UK
