Job Overview The successful candidate will perform critical technical support to our fire engineering teams and clients UK wide. Here at Jensen Hughes, our clients trust us to respond rapidly and deliver conclusive reports, of the highest technical standard. You will undertake on-sitefireinspections (particularly during the construction phase) and will be involved in desktop reviews offirerisk appraisals reports;fire engineering reviews, firestrategy reports;firedrawings and supporting thefiresafety disciplines at Jensen Hughes. You will report direct to the Directors in respective office. Responsibilities Carrying out active and passivefireprotection systems reviews Compliance assessment and understanding of the main Britishfiresafety legislation and standards applied to buildings, such as Technical Handbooks, Approved Document B (ADB), BS9999, BS7974 Supporting on the development ofFireSafety Strategy reports for both, the building and public infrastructure sectors Updating the technical knowledge base Project resource management Assist with quality assurance processes as required Undertaking external fa ade assessments to meet the requirement of the industry standard such as implementing the PAS 9980 methodology for existing buildings and the EWS1 process Supporting on fee proposals, business development and marketing material preparations Managing your own client base and exceeding client expectations Providing in-house CPD presentations when the need arises in your specialist area Keeping update with the latest guidance, product literature and sharing this knowledge with the wider organisation Travel to client sites for site inspection and meetings will be required on a regular basis with overnight stays likely. Requirements and Qualifications You will have in depth knowledge of the regulatory process in Scotland You will have a good understanding of the regulatory process in England & Wales Extensive understanding of fire safety design and guidance for a variety of buildings Experience in reviewing detailed design drawings and specifications for external walls, cavity barriers, fire stopping, fire doors, and compartment walls/floors Experience carrying outintrusive external wall firesurveys on a wide range of new and existing buildings such as high-rise residential, office buildings, large retail complexes, historic buildings Proven experience in undertaking fire compartmentation inspections/surveys The ability to author technical/inspection reports The ability to undertake works independently and manage your own workload The ability and desire to mentor and manage our junior professionals where required A knowledge of the fire risk assessment process and a general appreciation of general risk/hazards in the built environment Knowledge of construction methods, fire performance of external wall materials and cavity barriers. Knowledge of internal passive fire products, fire testing and products field of application Knowledge of refurbishment schemes and managing contractors on-site #LI-MR #J-18808-Ljbffr
