Role Overview

The focus will be on managing the commercial elements of a long-term contract. This role is an exciting opportunity to implement robust commercial practices and challenge conventional methods while collaborating with team members to elevate commercial management standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Commercial Support: Provide essential commercial assistance to the project team, ensuring all contractual obligations are met and maintained.
  • Financial Oversight: Monitor and report on financial performance for assigned contracts, preparing accurate financial statements as needed. You will also be responsible for understanding financial processes, including cost-to-complete assessments and forecasting.
  • Contract Administration: Administer contract requirements effectively, including managing any variations that may arise.
  • Subcontractor Management: Oversee the appointment and management of subcontractors, including handling payment applications and final accounts.
  • Client Liaison: Work closely with client representatives and third parties to address daily commercial matters related to contract delivery.
  • Compliance and Improvement: Ensure adherence to internal systems and processes while actively seeking opportunities for improvement.
  • Timely Invoicing: Ensure prompt submission of invoices and payment applications to clients.
  • Business Development Support: Assist in creating materials for pre-qualification questionnaires (PQQs) and tenders.
  • Team Development: Mentor and guide the Commercial and Operations Team through training initiatives to enhance their skills.
  • Staff Management: Supervise Commercial Staff regarding performance evaluations, timekeeping, technical training, development, and resource allocation.
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • Experience with CBR (Cost-Benefit Ratio) preparations.
  • Familiarity with NEC (New Engineering Contract) and CEMAR (Contract Event Management and Reporting).
  • A background in construction or civil engineering.
