p Wentworth House Rail Systems are recruiting for a Principal Design Engineer to join their team working from their office in Preston Brook, Runcorn. /p p br br While professional experience and qualifications are key for this role, make sure to check you have the preferable soft skills before applying if required. br /p p As a Principal design engineer you will be responsible for leading, creating, preparing, modifying or contributing to designs or arranging for, or instructing others to do such work. /p p strong Responsibilities /strong /p ul li Undertake/lead electrification design in accordance with WHRS quality management system, to meet agreed programmes and budgets. /li li Undertake System, Basic, Allocation and Construction design of railway electrification in accordance with appropriate International, National, Railway Group and Network Rail Company Standards. (For Network Rail Projects in accordance within the Company’s Accreditation Certification as per NR/SP/ELP/21130) /li li Act as Checker and Approver of designs as appropriate. /li li Ensure that the Company Design Assurance is applied to all allocated projects /li li Assist in the determination of the design scope and the subsequent preparation of the valuation of design elements of Electrification work as part of the tendering process. /li li Undertake in site surveys /li li Leadership and management of the team of engineers and technicians, in the production of design calculations and drawings /li li Maintain coordination of feasibility studies, together with outline and detailed design proposals /li li Approving the work of design engineers and CAD technicians /li li Manage the interfacing of allocated Design Team(s) with Construction and Commissioning Team(s) where relevant to allocated electrification design & construct projects. /li li Assist in maintaining Design Procedures to ensure they meet the company’s quality and environmental procedures and current best engineering practice. /li /ul p br /p p strong Qualifications /strong /p ul li Degree qualified in relevant engineering discipline or equivalent /li li 10+ years proven railway electrification experience (15+ years if not Chartered) /li li Demonstrate application of, and compliance to Engineering Assurance processes and requirements that relate specifically to the discipline for which they are being appointed /li li Certification in CDM Regulations 2015 with a sound understanding of specifically the designers and client’s requirements. /li /ul p br /p p strong Experience and Knowledge /strong /p ul li General overall competence in design /li li Able to demonstrate they meet the performance and knowledge requirements /li li Knowledge of OLE design range applicable to current project /li li Shall have a sound understanding of Network Rail’s requirements regarding the Risk Assessment process. /li li Experience in Commercial and Design process /li /ul p br /p p strong In return /strong /p ul li Generous Salary /li li Company Vehicle /li li 25 days Holiday plus Bank Holiday /li li Pension /li li Learning & Development opportunities /li li Assistance and Wellbeing support /li /ul p br /p p strong Equal opportunities: /strong /p p Keltbray are an equal opportunities employer, and we are determined to ensure that no applicant or employee receives less favourable treatment on the grounds of gender, age disability, religion, belief, sexual orientation, marital status or race, or is disadvantaged by conditions or requirements which cannot be shown to be justifiable. /p
