The Principle Electrical Design Engineer role comes with a salary of up to �78,000, car allowance and hybrid working. The key responsibility of this role is to deliver technical excellence in designing, specifying, and assessing electrical infrastructure systems to ensure safety, reliability, and operational efficiency in a high-hazard environment.

Responsibilities and duties
As a Principle Electrical Design Engineer you will:

• Develop, specify, and assess high-quality electrical design packages for infrastructure projects.
• Define reliability and operational requirements for electrical infrastructure systems.
• Evaluate and approve maintenance work control procedures.
• Assess designs, material conditions, and ageing mechanisms to maintain facility operations.
• Promote safety and security as core values in all activities.
• Ensure safety-related contracts meet requirements by acting as an informed and engaged customer.

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

• Strong expertise in electrical engineering, particularly in: HV/MV distribution, LV distribution, Protection systems, Control & Instrumentation (C&I) systems, Electrical machines (e.g., synchronous motors, diesel alternators)
• Ability to deliver innovative and cost-effective design modifications for plant and infrastructure.

Personal skills

The Principle Electrical Design Engineer role would suit someone who has:

• Experience in the defence/nuclear or other high-hazard industries.
• Degree or HNC in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Security Clearance
