Role Title Principal Engineer - Electrical Engineering (Control & Instrumentation) Reports to Jordan Shipley
Role Description
The Principal Engineer (C&I) shall design, install and test hardware to provide a plant simulation system capable of testing the on-board control systems prior to deployment onto the platform. The role will be full time onsite at Barrow with working including electrical installation, testing and commissioning of control systems and control system test harnesses.
Core Duties
Typical duties include (but are not limited to):
In accordance with the level of supervision/responsibility assigned by role/grade:
• Develop hardware design solutions to agreed time, cost and quality in accordance with project or business milestones.
• Develop and manage requirements and acceptance criteria specific to a system or product and/or across a system of systems, platform or programme
• Produce documentation required to support the design review process, including: diagrams technical specifications supporting calculations design evidence and justifications
• Installation of the relevant system to the design documenatation ensuring all work is done safetly and to all relevant standards
• Commissioning and setting to work of all installed test harnesses to prove correct and safe installation.
• Ensure compliance against contractual requirements and that work is undertaken in accordance with company, safety, environmental, contractual and local business processes, standards, procedures and documentation.

Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications
Knowledge:
• Hands on installation experience is desirable
• Basic understanding of at least one of the following areas:
o - Instrumentation and control systems
o - Electrical circuits design, EMC precautions and power supply characteristics
o - Fieldbus technology (Profibus/Profinet)
• Technical reports and specifications
• Functional System Diagrams
• System design evidence
• Developing test procedures
• Installation, Configuration and testing of equipment
Skills:
• Technical report writing skills.
Qualifications:
? Degree in relevant STEM discipline

All applicants must as a minimum achieve Baseline Personnel Security Standard. £43.45 per hour PAYE or
£58.58 per hour UMBRELLA
4 days onsite per week due to the testing of onboard control systems.
12 month contract - likely extension beyond.
