Principal Engineer - Nuclear Safety Case

Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for several experienced Safety Case Engineers ideally with a background in nuclear on a permanent basis, to be based in either Barrow-in-Furness, Filton, Frimley, Broadoak, Weymouth or Brough with hybrid working.
Responsibilities

• Deterministic nuclear safety assessment for build and commissioning
• Authoring of nuclear safety cases including results of deterministic and probabilistic analyses of build and commission activities
• ALARP assessments of new and legacy facilities and equipment
• Definition, agreement, and implementation of safety case requirements
• Potential line management and development responsibilities for less senior team-members
• Management of internal and external interfaces, such as Engineering Authorities, Human Factors, regulatory bodies, MOD

What do I need to do the role?
Essential:

• Engineering or Physical Science degree (or equivalent qualification) in relevant discipline
• Previous experience in safety analysis and safety case production
• Experience in working collaboratively in multi-discipline teams to deliver activities
• on a range of project types

Desirable:

• Chartered Status or actively working toward Chartered Status
• Member of relevant institute or significant demonstrable engineering experience and capable of registration with the Engineering Council
