Principal Cloud &Infrastructure Architect - Permanent - London We are seeking a talented and visionary Principal Architect to join our clients Technology Office. In this exciting role, you will have the chance to work at the forefront of technological advancements, influencing and driving the evolution of our cloud-based services and infrastructure.Responsibilities:Strategic Analysis & Architecture Development: Collaborate with CTO Enterprise Architects to analyze business strategy, trends, and change requirements, deriving the future state technology architecture across Public Cloud and Infrastructure.Policy & Standards Development: Create and implement organizational policies, standards, guidelines, and methods for designing cloud-based services.Innovative Cloud Solutions: Develop cloud-based service solutions that introduce modern technologies or novel uses for existing technologies.Consultation & Migration Guidance: Provide expert consultation for business applications teams, guiding the migration of applications to the cloud using well-architected designs and Azure capabilities.Technical Execution & Troubleshooting: Execute software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting, while considering alternative approaches to problem-solving.Accelerate Cloud Migration & Digital Transformation: Enhance the velocity of cloud migration and digital transformation by helping engineering teams adopt DevOps, Infrastructure as Code, and automated release processes.Technical Governance: Participate, contribute, and occasionally lead technical governance authorities to ensure best practices.Technology Evaluation: Evaluate recommendations and provide feedback on new technologies to ensure alignment with strategic goals.Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as the go-to expert within the Technology Office for all cloud and infrastructure-related queries.Product Collaboration: Work with product managers to define deliverables, shape products, and guide project plans and objectives.Operational Stability: Identify opportunities to automate remediation of recurring issues, improving the overall operational stability of software applications and systems.Mentorship & Training: Coach, train, and mentor team members to enhance the maturity and value of cloud practices.Research & Innovation: Continuously research infrastructure technologies and identify solutions that benefit the organization.Skills/Experience:Technical Expertise & Certifications: Hands-on experience with technical depth in areas like Cloud Enablement Design & Migration, Infrastructure Design, Identity, Distributed Technologies, and Messaging Technology.Network Architecture Knowledge: Understanding of network architecture concepts, including topology, protocols, components, principles, fault domains, and failure modes.Cybersecurity Acumen: Knowledge of the latest cyber threats, attack techniques, and mitigating strategies.IT Security Principles: Familiarity with software-related IT security principles and methods.DevOps & Automation: Understanding of DevOps practices, pipelines, automation, and tools for delivering secure software and infrastructure to the cloud.Disaster & Cyber Recovery: Prior experience in disaster and/or cyber recovery planning and testing is a plus.Relevant Certifications: Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure Administrator Associate and Azure Network Engineer Associate certifications.Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, information systems, business management, or a related field preferred.
