Principal Mechanical/Electrical Engineer

Jackson Hogg is delighted to be recruiting for a Principal Engineer who specialises in the Mechanical & Electrical disciplines to join our client who operate within the rail industry. This role is full-time and permanent and will be based in Newcastle Upon Tyne, offering a hybrid working pattern. The ideal candidate will be degree qualified or equivalent in a mechanical or electrical discipline, and have extensive industry experience assessing the conditional of electrical an mechanical assets within� infrastructure and public sectors which can be applied to the rail industry.�

Responsibilities:

• Take lead in assessing current conditions of assets across the Northeast


• Develop and maintain maintenance, renewal and repair specification compliant with relevant legislative and industry standards.�


• Lead in undertaking audits, inspections and other activities�aimed at evaluating compliance of the delivery units against standards and specifications.�


• Provide technical advice to internal teams and internal/external stakeholders.


• Design and trial new systems and equipment.


• Supervisory experience and checking of others' work.

Requirements:

• Chartership status (advantageous)


• Degree qualified or equivalent in a mechanical or electrical discipline


• Obtain industry experience assessing the conditional of electrical an mechanical assets within� infrastructure and public sectors which are transferrable within�the rail industry.�


• Have excellent communication skills, decision�making and problem solving capability.
