Role Overview:
As a Principal Mechanical Engineer, you will lead the mechanical design efforts for water industry projects while managing a multi-disciplinary design team. This role supports hybrid working arrangements, requiring in-person collaboration at the office approximately 2-3 days per week. You will oversee projects related to water and wastewater infrastructure, guiding them from feasibility studies through to detailed construction designs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop innovative concept designs aligned with project briefs.
• Execute comprehensive design work across various mechanical systems.
• Ensure high technical standards and compliance with client requirements.
• Manage design outputs and coordinate with local teams and other engineering offices.
• Review and approve engineering designs, calculations, and technical documentation.
• Maintain adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Oversee project management, including resource allocation and budgeting.
• Foster strong client relationships and ensure effective communication of project progress.

Skills & Experience Required:

• Proven ability to produce and approve detailed mechanical designs for complex systems.
• Strong knowledge of sewage and clean water processes.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on practical engineering solutions.
• Familiarity with civil and electrical engineering principles is advantageous.
• Experience in leading multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
• Willingness to travel as required.
