TGRC has partnered with an award-winning renewable energy installer and consultancy, specializing in wind, solar and hydro sectors.Key Responsibilities:Developing client relationships to ensure that we have a clear understanding of the market need, refining our offer to meet this need and winning work. This is expected to require targeted recruitment and the development of relationships with the full range of EIA subcontractors.Undertaking Principal Consultant elements of consultancy services and project delivery, including formulating planning strategies, resolving planning risks, technical report drafting, overseeing ES preparation and quality control.Preparation and submission of planning appeals, including representing clients at appeal and other hearings.Writing and editing fee proposals and reports to a high professional standard, including writing technical elements of proposals, and formulating fees with input from the Head of Team.Formulation and submission of responses on behalf of the company on policy and planning consultations, marketing and media pieces for renewable energy and land use planning.Management of some of our current principal clients and of new ones.Reviewing the work of other team members prior to submission to the client or to official bodies to ensure compliance with internal and external standards.Maintain a detailed understanding of the regulations and guidance/best practice pertaining to renewable energy development on specialism (e.g., planning policy guidance, environmental impact assessment.) Updating other team members or changes to guidance.Adhering to, and contributing to the development of, Quality Management standards and continuous improvement.Responsible for growing our planning and EIA business in Scotland, with the support of the Head of Team and the Business Development ManagerOverseeing the management of our Scottish projects with day to day management carried out by the allocated Project Managers.Responsible for managing financial aspects of allocated major projects and dealing with difficult issues as they arise.To succeed in the role:Significant EIA project leadership experience on renewable energy (expected to be mostly onshore wind) projects for the Scottish planning system.Experience of growing a planning/EIA (or similar) business.Detailed knowledge and experience of the other UK planning systems (England or Wales).Education or training in EIA to a detailed level of understanding, preferably with a formal EIA qualification.Excellent team working and leadership skills.Ability to coach, manage, facilitate, consult, and participate comfortably, confidently, and appropriately.Ability to communicate complex information and respond to questioning.
