Principal Planning Officer (Minerals and Waste Policy) required for a busy Warwickshire based Local Authority.

Lead and assist in the formulation of strategic policy and advise on its implementation and monitoring.
Provide strategic guidance and advice on strategic planning matters to colleagues at local, sub-regional, regional level and in some cases, national level.
To Play a leading role in the preparation of the Minerals and Waste Local Plans and the Plans' evidence base including the Sustainability Appraisal (SA), Habitats Regulations Assessment (HRA) and other documents and evidence, required to progress the Plans through to adoption.
Provide clear strategic policy advice for land use planning (with particular emphasis on Minerals and Waste Policy) and related policy areas through policy and strategic formulation, and advise on its implementation, monitoring and review.
The Candidate :
At least 5 years post degree or equivalent experience in land use planning policy or corporate policy related work
Good knowledge of planning legislation, policy practice, processes and procedures
Relevant degree or equivalent
Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute ( Desirable ).
