Our client, a leading company in the defence and security sector, is currently seeking a Principal/Senior Hardware Engineer to join their team on a contract basis in Rochester. This is a critical role involving the design, development and delivery of hardware solutions for cutting-edge defence projects. The position is initially for a 12-month period.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Designing, developing, and testing hardware components for defence systems
  • Collaborating with software and systems engineering teams to ensure integrated solutions
  • Providing technical expertise throughout the hardware development lifecycle
  • Conducting detailed analysis, simulation, and verification of hardware designs
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations
  • Preparing technical documentation and reports
  • Supporting hardware integration and troubleshooting activities
Job Requirements:
  • Significant experience in hardware engineering within the defence sector
  • Strong knowledge of hardware design principles and methodologies
  • Proficiency in using hardware development tools and software
  • Experience with hardware testing and validation procedures
  • Understanding of industry standards and regulatory requirements in defence
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Relevant degree in electronic engineering or a related discipline
