Overview of role The Principal Technical Consultant will play a leading role in driving ETAP Enterprise Solutions whilst providing expert technical support and Sales Support. The role offers the opportunity to work, gain training and experience as part of a growing and dynamic UK based engineering team supporting a range of industry sectors. This is fantastic opportunity to part of a dynamic enthusiastic and growing team within the UK Power Industry. Duties and Responsibilities 1. Expertise in Electrical Engineering: As a principal consultant, you would be expected to have extensive knowledge and experience in electrical engineering, including power systems, control systems, electronics, and related fields.2. Consulting Services: Play a pivotal part in growing our consulting services and provide a high level of professionalism to clients, which may include businesses, government agencies, or other organizations. Advise clients on electrical systems, energy efficiency, safety standards, and other relevant areas. 3. Project Management: Oversee and lead electrical engineering projects from conception to completion. Coordinate with clients, project teams, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery. 4. Business Development: Actively participate in business development activities, such as identifying new client opportunities, working closely with the sales teams in preparing proposals, and winning new projects. Build and maintain strong client relationships along with assisting the pre and post sales support to the team. 5. Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership to a team of engineers and professionals. Stay abreast of industry trends, new technologies, best practices, legislation and new or updated standards. Work wit the development teams to ensure the software is up to date with the relevant standards and develop technical specifications to support the development team in ensuring the software is up to date. 6. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that electrical systems and projects comply with relevant regulations, codes, and standards and compliance to our QA processes. 7. Problem Solving: Address complex technical challenges and provide innovative solutions. Troubleshoot and resolve issues that may arise during the course of a project. 8. Communication Skills: Effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non[1]technical audiences. Prepare and deliver reports, presentations, and documentation. 9. Quality Assurance: Maintain high-quality standards for deliverables and services. 10. Training: Assist in delivering customer training courses for both standard training courses along with customised course including Grid Code. 11. Events Assist in planning and attending Conferences, Exhibitions, Technical Seminars Skills, Knowledge and ExperienceA significant number of years of relevant experience in electrical power system analysis and design; Capability to utilize standard engineering and mathematical concepts and principles in the design, coding, and testing of software components; Working knowledge of ETAP and other power system analysis software Proficiency in modelling and analysis for industrial and distribution power systems; Familiarity with Power Management System concepts and applications;Strong analytical skills for use in response to technical queries from Clients; Computer skills related to the creation of reports and presentations in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint; Education BEng in Electrical Engineering (power modules required) MEng in Power System Engineering (preferred) CEng is an advantage Location Our office is based in Central Milton Keynes although the role is a Hybrid of both remote and office based.
