Job Title: Principal Town Planner
Location: Cheltenham
Salary: Up to �50,000 DOE

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Principal Town Planner to join a reputable planning consultancy in Cheltenham. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering a wide range of planning projects, providing expert advice, and leading the development of high-quality planning solutions for a variety of clients. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead planning applications and development proposals from inception to approval, ensuring successful outcomes.
- Provide expert planning advice across residential, commercial, and mixed-use development projects.
- Manage and prepare complex planning submissions, including applications, appeals, and representations.
- Coordinate and collaborate with clients, local authorities, statutory consultees, and other key stakeholders.
- Prepare detailed planning reports and supporting documentation for planning applications and appeals.
- Conduct site appraisals and feasibility studies, identifying planning risks and opportunities.
- Mentor and guide junior planners, fostering their professional development.
- Keep up to date with changes in planning legislation, policies, and best practices.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
- Represent planning interests at meetings with clients and local authorities.
Skills & Experience:
- RTPI membership (or working towards) is essential.
- Proven experience in town planning, with a thorough understanding of the UK planning system.
- Demonstrated experience leading planning applications and managing projects across various sectors.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage relationships and expectations.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, managing multiple projects effectively.
- Experience in development management and strategic planning is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of local planning policy and legislation.
- Full UK driving license and access to your own vehicle.
