Prison Based, Justice Social Worker

Are you a qualified social worker with experience in Criminal Justice Services?

A unique and rewarding opportunity has arisen to join the Glasgow Criminal Justice Service, working within Barlinnie Prison.

This is a minimum three-month contract offering a competitive hourly rate, flexible locum schedule, and the chance to make a real difference in a challenging and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver social work services within a Criminal Justice setting.
• Complete LSCMI assessments and develop risk management plans.
• Prepare court reports to inform sentencing decisions.
• Manage a complex caseload, including offenders subject to supervision.

Essential Requirements:

• Degree in Social Work (or equivalent).
• Registered with the SSSC (Social Worker part of the Register).
• LSCMI training (preferred).
• Driving licence and access to a vehicle.
• Experience in criminal justice or working with offenders is highly desirable.
