Are you a Private Client Paralegal looking for a new challenge in a reputable company with excellent benefits and working environment?
My Client a well known Law Firm are looking to recruit a Private Client Paralegal to work in their Private Client Team. You will join a leading team of fee earners who specialise in providing advice to private individuals and trustees in respect of probate, estate planning and trust administration.
Duties:
The workload can be tailored to the level of experience of the successful candidate and we are open to applications from candidates at all levels. However, you must be comfortable largely running your own caseload. The expectation is that the individual assists with a full range of tasks relating to probate, estate planning, inheritance tax calculations, advising trustees and managing the day to day running of trusts, although a candidate who wants to focus on one or more of our niche areas could likely be accommodated.
* The successful candidate will be required to assist the probate team with applications for grants of representation and the administration of estates, preparation of powers of attorney, preparation of wills and codicils.
* You will also be required to assist with the administration of various trusts that have been established by clients via their wills or during their lifetime.
* You may also be required to assist in other areas of work for the team and the wider department.
* Dealing with all aspects of the administration of estates, including collating information on assets and liabilities, preparing applications for grants of representation and short form inheritance tax accounts, drafting basic estate accounts.
* Drafting wills and codicils using established precedents.
* Drafting powers of attorney, including Lasting Powers of Attorney (both property and financial affairs and health and welfare).
* Dealing with all aspects of trust management.
* Dealing with correspondence, communicating directly with clients, third parties, professional contacts
* Supporting fee earners in the team, helping them manage their caseloads by dealing with specific delegated tasks.
* Ensuring files are managed in compliance with Lexcel procedures.
* Keeping abreast of changes in legislation and other regulatory aspects by attending training.
Skills Required:
* Strong organisational and administrative skills
* Have excellent attention to detail with a methodical and logical approach
* Ability to prioritise demanding workloads effectively and meet deadlines
* Probate experience is desirable but not essential
* Trust management experience is desirable but not essential
* Ability to communicate with people at all levels
* Experienced in use of different software applications e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Oyez forms
* Have good numerical skills
