The Client:

Our client is a well-established law firm, offering a wide range of legal services for both business and personal needs.

The Role:

As a Solicitor in a private client department, you'll oversee all aspects of private client work.

Responsibilities:

• Drafting Wills and administering estates for both individual and business clients.
• Providing advice on tax planning strategies.
• Preparing responses to a Larke v Nugus request.
• Managing Lasting Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection matters.

Requirements:

• Previously worked as a Solicitor or in a similar role.
• Minimum 3 years of PQE
• Experience with various probate disputes, including the validity of Wills, testator capacity, estate administration issues, and disputes over estate administration costs.
• Familiarity with the law regarding Contested Wills and Inheritance Act claims.
• Background in handling contentious probate matters for clients.
• Understanding of Will preparation, including strategies for asset protection and tax mitigation.
• Knowledge of trust formation, administration, and taxation; estate administration; and deeds of variation.
• Expertise in preparing and registering Lasting Powers of Attorney.
• Skilled in the fundamental principles of inheritance, capital gains, and income tax within estate planning.
• STEP / SFE qualification would be preferred.
• Must have right to work in the UK.
