A world-leading industrial gases and engineering company require a Process Control Engineer at their ROC (Remote Operations Centre) near Rotherham. You will be part of an excellent team responsible for the safe and efficient operation and monitoring of the plant on a 24-hour basis using state of the art technology.

This role is office based, with experience determining band and salary.



Key responsibilities include:




  • In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the secure and reliable network and computer infrastructure for the ROC

  • You will be responsible for automating the collection and reporting of the alarm statistics for all our remote operations centre controlled plants

  • As part of that, you will review and evaluate nuisance alarms and oversee the Engineering Management of Change (EMOC) process to reduce alarm count and improve operator interactions

  • In addition, you will support the implementation of process control changes across various Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Human-machine interface (HMI) types whilst making�automatic control systems adjustments where required

  • This role gives you the opportunity to make a real difference to our remote operations centre, as you get involved in projects to support the development and implementation of productivity improvements

  • Aim to help reduce alarm counts, optimise operator interactions, and improve productivity.





Requirements:




  • You ideally will have previous experience in control room operation and using process interfaces�such as HMI software/SCADA/ PCS7 Siemens

  • You have a digital mindset with a good level of IT skills and are familiar with Microsoft Windows operating system, PC configuration, virtualisation, and networking

  • You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach and the ability to influence others

  • You have working experience�of process controls, operations, commissioning, and projects as well as specific experience in process design, optimisation, automation and/or control loops and systems

  • Furthermore, you have an understanding and experience of PLC programming and/or Advanced Controls

  • And lastly, you have experience in working across projects using an analytical mindset and passion to solve problems and drive improvements

  • You also have strong relationship management and team working abilities within a�control room environment.




  • A knowledge of Air Separation operation or similar plant is desirable.

  • You must have a high level of personal Integrity.
