The�Process�Safety Consultant will work in the Process Safety Group to support the development and growth of the Process Safety & Process Safety Engineering Services business across the full client base as well as�into new clients.
The Process Safety Consultant role will operate across the North into the target regions focused on Leeds, Manchester and the North West. The target sectors will be Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals, Oil & Gas, Food, Bulk Storage & Distribution, Renewables and Energy - bringing a background in some of these areas would be advantageous.�
Ability, confidence and comfort to work independently is essential.�
Responsibilities:
- Leads team/individual assignments, manages fee rate and utilisation to deliver agreed contribution.
- Works with the Commercial team and Business Development to win work
- Supports development of company Process�Safety�competency management, standards,�methodologies, work processes, procedures and enabling tools/systems.
- Active in key external organisations e.g. professional bodies, subject groups etc.
- Confident public speaker, keen to assist in the delivery of technical training courses and present papers at events.
- Lead/chair meetings with multiple customer stakeholders.
- Keeps up to date with Process Safety trends, legislation and identifies areas for growing developing capabilities.
Background & Strengths:
- A degree in an engineering or scientific discipline, preferably Chemical or Process Engineering.
- Chartered with an appropriate Institution or equivalent.
- 10+ years experience as a Process Safety Specialist operating�within the aforementioned target sectors�
- Strong knowledge of relevant UK legislation in this sector (eg COMAH, DSEAR and related codes/standards)�
- Strong experience providing leadership�and consultancy support across� a range of process safety areas including COMAH, Project Safety Management (PSM), Project HAZOPS, Retrospective Hazard Reviews (HAZOP),Process Hazard Review (PHR),Hazard Study 1- 6, Hazard Identification� ,LOPA, Quantified Risk Assessment(QRA),�Consequence modelling, Occupied Building Risk Assessment (OBRA), Alarm management, Bowtie analysis, Functional safety (IEC 61511), Hazardous area management (ATEX / DSEAR), Human factors, Pressure Relief and Flare assurance.
