Location: Rotherham
Working Hours: Monday-Friday, 9 AM - 5 PM
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000
Role
The Process Technician will support the operation and maintenance of hydrogen generators and catalyst production equipment as a part of a multi-discipline team. The role involves assisting engineers and scientists in technology development, ensuring the quality and operability of equipment, and contributing to experimental and research projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Laboratory Setup: Prepare laboratory facilities, equipment, instruments, and materials for experiments or tests.
- System Operation: Operate HMI systems to control hydrogen generators and catalyst production systems.
- Quality Assurance: Perform QA and QC on produced catalysts.
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and calibrate equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Experiment Assistance: Assist in conducting experiments, tests, and research projects.
- Data Collection & Analysis: Collect and analyse data, measurements, and observations using various tools and techniques.
- Documentation: Record and document experimental data, observations, and results accurately and timely.
- SOP Compliance: Follow standard operating procedures to ensure consistency and reproducibility.
- Troubleshooting: Resolve technical issues that arise during experiments or tests.
- Procedure Development: Assist in the development and optimisation of test systems, procedures, and protocols.
- Collaboration: Work with team members to analyse and interpret data.
- Safety Compliance: Comply with safety protocols and ensure adherence to regulations and guidelines.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: GCSE or equivalent, technical college graduate, or apprentice trained preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years as a technician in an engineering workshop or laboratory.
- Specialised Skills:
- Handling chemical reagents and production of catalysts.
- Operating and maintaining complex systems and test equipment.
- Experience with PLC control systems and datalogger systems.
- Working with hazardous gases in an ATEX environment.
- Proficiency with hand tools.
- Desirable Skills (Training Available):
- Piping, welding, soldering, and/or electrical wiring skills.
- Reading engineering and electrical drawings.
- FLT license.
- Soft Skills: Strong work ethic, good communication skills, team player, and safety-focused.
- Technical Knowledge: Knowledge of 5S principles and computer literacy.
