The Opportunity:

Our client offers a wealth of experience and connections within their respective networks, predominantly the rail sector and are looking to onboard a Procurement Consultant to develop and integrate with their busy portfolio of clients.

This opportunity will play an integral part in supporting the growth of the organisation and you will work closely with a variety of customers to offer unique, tailored solutions with the support of experienced mentors.

You will be part of a supportive team with opportunity for career growth and progression across numerous areas within the consultancy space.

This role will operate on a hybrid-basis, with a modern office as HQ based in Pride Park, Derby.

Key responsibilities:

The overall responsibility will be to play a crucial role in helping clients optimise their procurement processes, manage supply chains and ensure effective vendor management.

Other responsibilities include:

- Identifying opportunities for cost savings throughout supply chain
- Selecting the best suppliers by conducting rigorous evaluations to select the most suitable partners.
- Monitoring supplier performance using KPI's and regular audits
- Negotiating and ensuring contracts are compliance (in particular within public services).
- Preparing and managing tender documentation, including Requests for Proposals, Invitations to Tender and Requests for Quotations.
- Supporting and assisting clients in preparing competitive bids for rail projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Working closely with engineering, project management, finance, and legal teams to ensure procurement aligns with overall project objectives.

Candidate Essentials:
- Public procurement experience (highly desirable)
- Confident with supplier terms and building relationships with stakeholders (essential)
- Ability to be client facing/relationship focused/confident (essential)
- Rail industry specific procurement-oriented (desirable)

Qualifications:
- CIPS qualified or industry equivalent (highly desirable)
