As we continue to expand, we are seeking a skilled and motivated Procurement Manager to join our dynamic team.
As the Procurement Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing the procurement activities of the company. You will be responsible for ensuring that all materials, components, and services required for production are sourced efficiently, cost-effectively, and in compliance with UK legislation.

    Key Responsibilities:
    Supplier Relationship Management:




  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure high-quality products and services.

  • Regularly evaluate supplier performance and address any issues to ensure continuous improvement.

  • Develop and implement strategies for effective supplier relationship management.




  1. Ordering Capabilities and Lead Time Management:




  • Ensure ordering processes are efficient and meet lead time requirements to support production schedules.

  • Collaborate with production and planning teams to align procurement activities with production needs.

  • Monitor order statuses and proactively address any potential delays.




  1. Procurement Terms and Conditions:




  • Develop, review, and manage procurement terms and conditions to protect the company's interests.

  • Ensure all procurement activities are compliant with company policies and relevant regulations.

  • Work with legal and finance departments to align procurement terms with corporate policies.




  1. Logistics Management:




  • Oversee all inbound and outbound shipping activities to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.

  • Coordinate with logistics providers and internal teams to streamline shipping processes.

  • Implement and manage logistics strategies to optimize transportation costs and delivery timelines.




  1. Negotiation of Terms and Prices:




  • Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure the best possible terms, conditions, and pricing for stock and large purchases.

  • Conduct market research and analysis to support negotiation strategies and decision-making.

  • Continuously seek opportunities to reduce costs and improve terms without compromising on quality.




  1. Stock Oversight:




  • Manage inventory levels to ensure adequate stock is available to meet production and sales demands.

  • Implement inventory control measures to minimize excess stock and reduce holding costs.

  • Regularly review stock levels and work with warehouse and production teams to optimize inventory management.




  1. Invoice Auditing:




  • Audit invoices for work done on company premises to ensure accuracy and value for money.

  • Verify that the work billed has been completed to the required standards and within the agreed terms.

  • Investigate and resolve any discrepancies between invoiced amounts and work performed to prevent overcharging.





Qualifications and Experience:





Our ideal candidate is a proven Procurement Manager or progressing assistant from the engineering or manufacturing sector.



Strong knowledge of UK procurement regulations, including experience in contract management and compliance.



Knowledge of international trade regulations and logistics management



Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong supplier relationships.



Experience in managing procurement budgets and delivering cost savings.



Ability to analyse data and make strategic decisions.



Proficient in procurement software and tools, with a strong understanding of supply chain management principles.



Experience leading and developing a team.



Professional certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CIPS, CPSM).

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically.

Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills.

Proactive, with a will-do attitude and the ability to work independently under pressure and to tight deadlines.

Salary: �35,000 plus �5,000 bonus upon meeting role-specific KPIs.
