Anderson Knight is currently seeking a Procurement Officer for one of our clients based in Whitburn. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing procurement activities, ensuring that the organization secures high-quality goods and services at competitive prices. This role is crucial in supporting the efficient operation of the organisation and ensuring compliance with procurement policies and regulations.



Key Responsibilities




  • Manage the procurement of goods and services, including preparing purchase orders, soliciting bids, and negotiating contracts with suppliers.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring that the organisation receives the best possible terms and conditions.

  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and value improvements while maintaining the quality of goods and services.

  • Conduct market research to stay informed of industry trends, pricing, and supplier capabilities.

  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with relevant departments to forecast demand and manage stock levels effectively.

  • Maintain accurate records of all procurement activities, including contracts, purchase orders, and supplier communications.

  • Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, savings achieved, and supplier performance for management review.



Qualifications and Experience




  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a procurement role

  • Understanding of procurement principles, contract management, and supplier relationship management.
