Our client is seeking to grow their already very successful sales team to help drive & progress the company towards its future. This is a great opportunity to work in a creative and proactive team environment within a company that will support you and progress you professionally.
The role is Monday-Friday based on an 8.5 working hour day with 1 hour for lunch.
Summary of the role.
The candidate will be responsible for securing product at a competitive rate, identifying and addressing gaps in the product category (price points, product and suppliers / brands working with our competitors) and agreeing the full operational process with supplier. Negotiations will be carried out predominantly over the telephone, with face-to-face meetings where necessary.
Key Responsibilities.
� Researching, sourcing and securing new category specific products.
� Negotiating contracts and prices with existing and new suppliers across the UK.
� Ensuring that target margins are secured and maintained to maximise the profitability of the business.
� Ensuring an accurate and comprehensive handover of products and suppliers to the Supplier Team for completion of the contracting and approval process.
� Be proactive with products and services.
� Regular reporting on product development for third party partners
Criteria for candidates.
� Previous experience of business development or contracting
� Strong Word, Excel and Power Point skills
Other skills.
� Excellent negotiation skills over the phone and face to face, used to negotiating to director level
� Excellent literacy skills
� Ability to prioritise and multitask with good time management and organisational skills
� Creative and innovative approach
� Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
� Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy
� Open, friendly and confident communication style
� Working effectively as part of a team plus the ability to work on own initiative and make decisions
