Production Assembly Manager
Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Production Assembly Manager to lead and oversee a multi-skilled team including production engineers and their team leaders. The Production Assembly Manager will be responsible for ensuring best practices and continuous improvement in manufacturing methods, production planning, and lean manufacturing techniques. The ideal candidate will have a strong managerial background, be proficient in KPI reporting and target setting, and have a comprehensive understanding of health and safety protocols in the workplace.
Responsibilities as Production Assembly Manager
- Manage and lead a team of production engineers and Team leads/supervisors to ensure an efficient and effective assembly processes
- Implement best practices and continuously improve manufacturing methods and practices
- Work closely with KPIs, reporting capabilities, and target setting for team members
- Produce accurate production routes and operation details
- Lead root cause analysis and implement preventative measures
- Design jigs and fixtures for use in assembly processes
- Oversee absence management, grievances, and performance and development initiatives for the team
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimise production processes and resolve technical issues
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including COSHH
- Mentor and motivate team members to achieve production targets
Qualifications and Experience as Production Assembly Manager
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
- Proven experience in managing production engineers in an assembly setting
- Proficiency in production planning and root cause analysis
- Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques and CAD
- Experience in design for manufacture and implementing continuous improvement initiatives
- Excellent proven structured�and effective leadership, communication, and organisational skills
