JOB PURPOSE: To manage the movement of jobs and job cards around the shop floor. Update the MRP system and advise Production controllers of jobs locations and possible issues. Move jobs, fixtures and materials to/from stores, operators, inspection and dispatch. Assist with packing and wrapping.
Main Responsibilities:
- Responsible for consistently updating the MRP system with individual jobs location.
- Responsible for moving products around the manufacturing facility. From material stage all the way to final inspection and dispatch
- Control of all materials, tooling and components through production to delivery
- Work to a daily / weekly production schedule in line with manufacturing capacity and customer demand
- Work closely with the Shop floor and Production Control Supervisor to ensure works loaded efficiently and progressed when complete to ensure target dates are met
- Participate in daily stand up meetings.
- Assist is wrapping and packing of completed goods for dispatch
- Work to achieving the monthly sales targets and OTD
- Move jobs between the various stages involved in the manufacturing process efficiently and with minimal down time.
- Help identify areas where improvement in processes can be made
- Identify areas with bottle necks and could hold up the manufacturing process. Make sure Shop supervision is aware.
- Work with Production Controllers to ensure jobs continually progress though the manufacturing stages.
- Advise production controllers and quality in cases of scrap.
- Be able to assist controllers in the upkeep of information on customer order books.
- Perform any other duties within your capabilities as directed by the Company
Skills and Experience Required:
- A strong organiser is essential
- Good working knowledge of Excel essential
- Strong communication skills are essential
- Must be numerate and computer literate
- Manufacturing environment experience highly desirable but not essential
- Previous Production Control experience within a manufacturing environment is desirable but not essential
hourly rate is £14.50 per hour, 39 hours per week, currently worked over 4 days but there may be a requirement to move to 5 days in the future 195 hours holiday per annum, plus bank holidays, contributory pension scheme and Private Health Care Scheme after qualifying period, onsite parking.
