Production Machinist

At WorkLyf Group, we are recruiting for a permanent Production Machinist for our client in Hanley, Stoke-On-Trent.

Purpose:

To effectively manufacture the production of wheels and support Production to ensure products are to the required Quality standards and specification.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Machine fine tolerance high quality finished products using a lathe.


• Ability to understand engineering drawings and work instructions.


• Following instructions for cutting speeds and times.


• Work to the Production Schedule.


• Support the Assembly team with Production builds.


• Establish and maintain effective working relationship with Co-workers, Managers and Customers.


• Adhere to all Health & Safety responsibilities.


• Undertake any other duties required by Management to meet the needs of the Business.


• To transfer to other departments within Manufacturing to meets deadlines.

Key Performance Indicators

• Monthly Target to be achieved.


• Ensure end products meet quality checks.


• Machine fine tolerance high quality finished products.


• Complete all necessary paperwork correctly.


• Pursue self-development.

Required Experience

• Two years’ experience of machining fine tolerance products.


• Use of hand-held tools.


• Able to inspect quality to a consistent standard.

Required Qualifications

• GCSE or equivalent.


• NVQ /BTEC National/ City & Guilds.


• Engineering Apprenticeship.

Required Skills and Abilities

• Self-motivated.


• A knowledge that was previously gained via an engineering apprenticeship or recognised training body.


• Good hand and eye co-ordination.


• Excellent attention to detail – with strong attention to quality & compliance.


• Flexible, approachable team player.


• Ability to work under pressure and on a variety of tasks to support customer needs.
