About Us:



Our client are a leading FMCG manufacturer based near Huddersfield. There are considered leaders within their category and product areas and combine a strong long stranding heritage with a modern, innovative approach to business and relationships. They now have an opportunity to bring someone in as a Production Planner �with the wider remit including getting involved in planning production, optimizing processes, allocating resources, interacting with customers, reporting and analysis, and purchasing raw materials and managing logistics. This role provides a great opportunity for the right person to develop into a strong multi-discipline manager.



Job Description




  • Create, issue, communicate and control weekly production plans to ensure order fulfilment on-time-in-full delivery.

  • Monitor end to end production process and plans to ensure production meets OTIF and adjust the plan accordingly.

  • Maintain optimal inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished product as well as inventory management.

  • Engage collaboratively with the wider team.



Key Accountabilities




  • Coordinate changes in plans to meet changing demands or resolve production issues.

  • Provide first line support for queries regarding finished product availability.

  • Utilise OrderWise (internal ERP system) to effectively plan and coordinate requirements, create and issue purchase orders and monitor the status to ensure on-time-in-full material delivery.

  • Carry out perpetual stock counts in collaboration with the wider team, deal with any discrepancies.

  • Maintain effective communication with cross functional departments, and the supply chain, including suppliers.



The Person



We are looking for a candidate with the following essential skills:




  • Educated to A Level or equivalent, a relevant degree is preferable.

  • Previous experience (2-4 years) in production planning and/or supply chain management.

  • Competent in using ERP systems, data analysis tools, and MS Office skills, especially Excel

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to foster collaboration

  • Ability to work under pressure, handle multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines
