Production Planner

Contek Recruitment are working with a reputable sheet metal fabrication company�in Telford, who are looking for a Production Planner to join their growing team.
Their extensive sheet metal service range can fulfill every aspect of a project. Their CNC press braking, spot welding, stud welding, pemserting and mechanicaly and electrical assembly ensure consistent manufacturing all completed under the same roof. As a Production Planner, you will take responsibility of the sheet metal fabrication�schedule, providing services to key customers,�ensuring efficient and effective planning operation of their services�and delivering opportunities for continuous improvement.
Duties and�Responsibilities:

• Create, maintain, and update the sheet metal fabrication schedule.


• Working closely with the production department.


• Involvement with production meetings.


• Ensure that the schedule fulfils the customer order book and is aligned to both inventory and on-time delivery targets.


• Alert the appropriate staff when there are schedule changes or delays.


• Hold reviews with the management team to check overall performance; This may involve further planning and rescheduling.


• Communicate any potential risks and/or problems.


• Ensuring availability of materials.


• Inventory management.


• A minimal amount of purchasing.


• Maintaining relationships with customers and suppliers.

Person Requirements:

• Previous experience within sheet metal fabrication is required.


• An understanding of production processes and ways of working is required.


• The ability to commute to Telford is required.
