This is a 2 year fixed term contract or secondment opportunity.

In Southend, Essex and Thurrock we share a determination to collectively improve the mental health of all our residents. We have an ambitious all age mental health strategy in place, and are now getting on with delivery.

This is a new and exciting opportunity to work closely with three local authorities, three ICBs, two main NHS providers, police, a wide range of VCSE organisations and service users, this unique system leadership role is pivotal to embedding and accelerating our progress. You will be the 'glue' that holds the system together, initiating, aligning and directly supporting a wide range of programmes, from local work on building resilience in communities to making better use of our inpatient beds.

In addition to the implementation of the strategy, you will work alongside the Chair of the Strategy Implementation Group, which brings together leaders from across the system to drive progress. You will be determining which issues need system wide attention and resolution, supporting the Group's development as the principal mental health partnership forum and connecting its work and priorities at all levels in the system.

About You

Educated to RQF level 6 (degree level) or equivalent by experience, you will bring evidence of continuing professional development and expert knowledge in mental health.

To succeed, you will need to have the ability to operate effectively at a strategic level, influencing key individuals and organisations, as well as having a sound understanding of how to translate complex programmes into clear, practical delivery plans.

You will be politically astute with sound appreciation of system governance and its complexities. You will be able to influence senior individuals and develop strong, trusting relationships at all levels, including with clinical and professional teams.

Please note that the job role requires you to be mobile throughout an operational area. Therefore, the post holder will need to have a driving licence and access to a vehicle, or the ability to meet the mobility requirements of the role through other means.
