Our client, one of the UK's largest ports operator, is seeking a skilled Civils Project Manager/Engineer to join their project engineering team in Southampton.
Position Overview
As a Project Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in delivering specific projects within the Capital investment programme. From concept to completion, you'll ensure projects are executed safely, sustainably, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Your expertise will be instrumental in overcoming engineering challenges and developing long-term solutions aligned with operational and budgetary constraints.
Responsibilities
Deliver projects within the Capital investment programme from concept to completion
Ensure compliance with processes including Project process, Procurement, Control of Contractors, Health and Safety, and CDM
Overcome engineering challenges and develop long-term solutions for various engineering applications
Undertake duties of Principal Designer in accordance with CDM Regulations 2015
Liaise with internal departments, customers, Government Agencies, and Planning Authorities
Identify and prepare cost estimates for present and future engineering works
Produce tender documentation and undertake contract administration for engineering works
Stay current with safety regulations and technical innovations to advise line managers
Plan work efficiently and cost-effectively within an operational environment
Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with policies
Engage with port users and potential customers on engineering and common interest matters
Identify and manage environmental matters as necessary
Requirements
Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction, or equivalent
Experience in design or implementation of Engineering Projects
Health & Safety and Environmental experience in engineering projects
Project management experience in engineering works
Proficiency in Microsoft suite of software
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Driven, enthusiastic, and confident approach
Full driving licence and willingness to travel occasionally to other ports
