First People Solutions - Project Engineer Opportunity

First People Solutions is seeking a Project Engineer with an electrical or mechanical bias to join a leading engineering firm in Glasgow. This permanent role involves providing full project guidance and developing maintenance plans as the project evolves.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop project objectives and coordinate procurement and site activities.
  • Prepare and analyze project status reports, recommending actions.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing procedures and regulations.
  • Train to Approved Person (AP) level for Electrical and Isolation Safety Rules.
  • Write engineering specifications, risk assessments, and method statements (RAMS).
  • Conduct site surveys and resolve technical and logistical issues.
  • Drive procurement of materials and manage suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Attend client meetings and liaise with clients regularly.
  • Report project progress to senior management and manage defects.
  • Ensure compliance with CDM & HSE regulations.

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years of experience in a similar Project Engineering role, preferably in the engineering industry.
  • Degree in an engineering discipline.
  • Understanding of water and wastewater industry processes is preferable.
  • Ability to write detailed reports and understand NEC contracts.
  • Full UK driving license required due to site travel.
